In Loving Memory James David Via(January 24th, 1951-January 25th, 2010)

With heavy a heart I’m writing to let you know that longtime Musicology drum instructor Dave Via passed away after long illness this week.  Dave was with us from the very beginning at Musicology when we opened our doors back in the late spring of 2006. Dave was a loving, inspiring and super-knowledgeable teacher and helped many of his drum students achieve great levels of skill during his time at Musicology. His wit, wackiness, deep passion for music and drums, and of course his love of the New York Yankees made for many crazy-fun times and  great music making. He will be greatly missed, Dave we miss you already!   There will be a memorial for him at the Kapok Pavillion/ Players School of Music this Sunday January 31st at 3PM. I hope to see you there!

God Bless,

Peter Mongaya (owner/president of Musicology)

January 29th, 2010 P&W night CANCELLED!!!

There will not be a P&W night this Friday 1/29/2010. Too much stuff going on right now. Our son Benjamin started back on chemo treatments this week.
Additionally Sam Martinez our bass player is currently playing in Tokyo and Tapei for a couple weeks, drummer JT is on tour, keyboardist and singer John Wilds is playing in Orlando all week….. You get the picture, but sorry for the late notice. I was trying to make it happen with a alternate rhythm section but no luck! P&W night in February will be in Plant City for John Wild’s CD release party which should be a good time and great music! I hope you and the family can make it out! Hope everything is well in your world!
